oh my heavenly days. i L-O-V-E this couple so bad. Sarah was one of the most relaxed and sweet brides to ever walk planet Earth. i’m pretty sure. no. really. she even styled her own hair and it looked absolutely fantastic. an 80% chance of rain showers threatened us all day but it sprinkled for just a minute then was clear after that. the always fabulous and talented Lori second shot for me and a couple of her awesome pictures are featured in this post! such an incredible day. loved every minute. xo!

oh goodness, we had suuuch a good time on this shoot. love this girl. she’s graduating high school in a few days and is then off to Harvard! exciting! by the way, that rad sweater? yeah, that’s totally her dad’s old Harvard sweater. so, so fantastic. xo!

a few days ago i heard about this band called The Vespers. i then found out that the girls are sisters and the guys are brothers. i instantly wanted to like them. i have this thing for siblings singing and playing music together. i don’t know why exactly, but i think it’s the perfect harmonies and the sibling rivalry that i adore most. there’s something familiar and natural about it. family and music shape so much of who we are and when those two pieces of life are intertwined, they often prove to be something really great.
this afternoon they played at ETSU and the show was absolutely delightful. i happened to have my camera in the car so i took it along and snapped a couple pictures just for fun. if you’re going to be around Johnson City this weekend, you can catch The Vespers at Down Home on Friday night. it will be incredible. also! in case you want some more fantastic music in your life, a couple of my other favorite bands with siblings are The Smart Brothers and First Aid Kit. go listen and enjoy!

in case you didn’t know, Instagram is now available for Android (as of yesterday, i think). and of course, iPhone. so there’s no excuse not to join the fun.
i’ve found this app to be fantastic for collecting snippets of the adventures i get myself into on a regular basis. one of my goals for 2012 (and probably every year after) is to learn to truly embrace the seemingly insignificant moments of life and make a conscious effort to soak up the here and now. i’ve found that these inbetween moments offer up some of the most glorious experiences life has to share. and it sure would be a shame to miss out.
(top to bottom, left to right) 1. i hope the ocean always amazes me; 2. are bonfires seriously not just the greatest things ever, or what?!; 3. picked up two of my sisters and went swimming in the freeeeezing South Holston Lake on one of the first (barely) warm days of the year (it was still Winter); 4. passed out upon finding YELLOW Stewart Weitzman loafers at a consignment shop in Boone NC for $12. why in the world no one bought these before or why someone sold them is beyond me. but i’m certainly not complaining; 5. my latest baby!!; 6. finally got to see The Love Language which so wonderfully included a trip to Asheville with lovely friends; 7. First Aid Kit in Washington dc. i know this is dramatic, but it was the most beautiful show i’ve ever experienced; 8. frozen pizzas! because sometimes you just gotta kiss healthy eating goodbye; 9. the mountains at dusk – driving to my beloved Asheville.
